25 Weeks...

Don't the boys look like twins....

We went to our regular OB this week. The boys are growing so much and moving around a lot more. I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors as well as my blood test to check for anemia. I have been taking it easy and getting lots of rest. My Mother-n-law was able to visit us from Montrose Colorado this past weekend and was able to go to the doctors with us. After our appointment, she realized that her contacts were in the wrong eyes making it real difficult to see the boys on ultrasound! The ultrasound tech checked baby B's amniotic fluid levels again and determined that it has increased to 10cm. My OB isn't too concerned and feels that between his visits and Utah Valley's visits the fluid will be closely monitored. I feel real good about things and believe that the boys will be able to stay inside past 28 weeks. I may even be able to have my baby shower after all.
Thank You for all your prayers and for following our blog!

24 weeks...

Our trip to Utah Valley Hospital went well. We had a two hour ultrasound because the boys wouldn't behave. The tech said she has never had twins move around so much, I tried to tell her they didn't like the ultrasound wand. The amniotic fluid in Baby B's sac has increased and has been diagnosed as Polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid) which may eventually have to be pulled off but is not related to TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). Baby A has been diagnosed with having only a two vessel cord instead of three and will have to be closely monitored for IUGR (Intra Uterine Growth Restriction). Baby A measured in at approximately 1lb 4oz and baby B at 1lb 6oz.
The doctor also checked my cervix and so far it has not dilated but is already beginning to thin which could also lead to preterm labor. I was told the babies will probably be as early as 28 to 32 weeks. The doctor at Utah Valley said I could come home for two weeks and then she would like to check the babies and the fluid every two weeks. If I begin to dialate then I will stay up north and will be admitted to the hospital once I reach 3cm. If I can hold on to the babies past 32 weeks I may be able to deliver down here. I have been put on strict bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy so if anyone wants to come and visit... I am always here!
We will be seeing our regular OB next Monday for my glucose tolerance test to screen for gestational diabetes and to have the boys measured.
Please continue to pray for us!

22 Weeks

We had our 22 week appointment with the anatomy ultrasound yesterday. Baby A is weighing in at 1lb 3oz and baby B is weighing in at 1lb 4oz. Last time we had their anatomy checked was four weeks ago and baby B was 10% smaller so he has passed up baby A by 4%. They are both growing well but the doctor did have one concern at this visit. The babies both have extra amniotic fluid so he is sending us to Utah Valley to see the Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists on Friday June 19th. Jeremy was able to get the day off so we will just drive up there and drive home the same day. My doctor said he felt comfortable with me driving that far as long as I took frequent rest stops. He said that if the doctors up at Utah Valley are concerned then I may need to stay up there so the can resume my care. I can't imagine being away from my husband. Have I told you all how wonderful my husband is? He is my best friend and my number one fan. This morning he got up and went to Wal-Mart at 6am to get me some boost (while I was sleeping). He read that an increase in protein intake can help reduce excess fluid. That is just one example of how wonderful he is. I don't know what I would do without him.
We have our house put back together after all the painting Jeremy did last weekend...it looks great! I still need to do some decorating so I probably won't post any pictures until then. I will have to take it easy again with this extra fluid so that my membranes don't rupture or put into preterm labor. We always like to play on the safe side. We will give you an update after we get back from Utah Valley...Please keep the babies in your prayers!
Love Ya

21 Weeks...

As you can see in the pictures my belly is getting rather BIG! The doctor was curious today so he decided to take the measuring tape to me for the first time, I am measuring 32 weeks! We will have the boys measured next week but I know they are getting bigger, for I feel them every day. I have experienced the joys of heart burn although I don't think our boys will end up with a lot of hair, I just think my stomach is running out of room. I only gained a single pound this past week which makes me really happy, hoping this is the beginning of a slowing down process. My neighbor Stephanie feeds me rather well and it's all homemade and hard to resist.
Jeremy is painting the nursery on Saturday afternoon and has already painted the bathroom. I have been trying to go for walks early in the mornings at least three times a week...I actually feel human again. We took Jeremy's truck to a local car dealer to try and sell because we haven't had any calls from KSL customers or from driving it around town with a for sale sign in it. As for that, nothing too exciting going on. We'll up date you again next week. We love you all very much!

4 Year Anniversary!

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday. We also had our 20 week doctors visit and ultrasound. The boys are doing great and moving like crazy. We were able to see baby A trying to eat his fingers. Their heart beats were strong, baby B's heart beat was 150 and baby A's heart beat was 154. They already act so different in the womb that we may not need to color code them after all to tell them apart. Baby B likes to stay on the left side all stretched out and baby A is usually all over the place. I feel little feet mostly in the left lower corner and up by my belly button. Speaking of belly button, it is so stretched it has no where to go. So far no stretch marks on my belly...thanks to Shea butter and genetics. I continue to gain weight but the doctor says he is happy with my weight gain because I may not be able to gain any the last month or so. We will have the boys measured again in two weeks to compare their growth.

As for Jeremy and I, we went to dinner last night at the Olive Garden and left feeling like stuffed pigs. In fact Jeremy came home and fell a sleep on the couch which is unlike him. This past weekend we made room for the boys by clearing out our office; it's amazing how much a couple can accumulate in just 4 years. We put Jeremy's truck up for sale on KSL and have begun looking for an SUV or something of the sort. We also picked out the blue paint and bought the bedding for the cribs. My niece and parents will be here in two weeks to help out and my niece will probably stay for the rest of the summer helping me around the house and keeping an eye on me just in case these boys decide to come early. My mother-n-law will also be coming to visit at the end of the month and will be joining us for one of our ultrasounds....We love visitors!

19 weeks 3 days...

Today we got to have another look at the boys...you can see they are getting bigger. Baby B in the top picture and Baby A in the bottom picture. They were being pretty funny today, they tried to kick the ultrasound wand off my belly and Baby B kept giving us the peace sign. This past week Jeremy and I have picked out the nursery colors and bought a changing table and crib. This weekend were going shopping for a crib mattress and sheets. We are getting more excited and less anxious as time goes by. We are now counting down with only 17 weeks to go. I laugh at myself on a daily basis because it is difficult to roll over in bed and get off the couch...I'm a HUSKY! We have picked out the boys names (Tristen Luke & Titan Blake) but are leaving room for change just in case the names don't fit.
We hope you are all doing well and thanks again for following our blog!

18 Weeks...

Today was our 18 week check up where the ultrasound tech viewed the anatomy of both babies. Both babies are measuring 18 weeks and have a "clean bill of health" according to the doctor. He said we don't have to go every week anymore unless we want to...of course we want to! He said he will measure them every 3 weeks to check their growth and compare them. They are moving more than ever and I can now see my belly move when they kick me. Baby B seems to enjoy all the space while baby A stays curled up. Baby A seems to enjoy somersaults. My belly seems to be growing right along with the boys, I now have to wear maternity shirts and pants. I really enjoy going to my appointments and socializing with others. A day out and about is like a field trip for me. I am currently watching the series of Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, House, and Big Love. I am also reading Believing Christ. I enjoy going out in the morning and eating my breakfast on the patio and occasionally make it out to trim my rose bushes and water my flowers. My friend Sylvia came through town on her way to Las Vegas and gave me some cute maternity clothes for my graduation gift...it's amazing what new clothes can do! My husband and I were suppose to fly to Iowa today to visit his grandparents but sadly we had to cancel our trip, maybe we can take the boys next year.
Okay...so this photo is baby A rubbing baby B's back, aren't they sweet!
